History

In 1993, our directorate was established under Fırat University as the Language Education Teaching Application and Research Center (FÜDEM). In 2009, we began actively teaching Turkish to foreign students for the first time.

On October 1, 2013, our directorate's name was changed to Fırat University Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center (FÜ TÖMER) through a regulation published in the Official Newspaper.

For many years, our directorate has been conducting activities in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and contemporary educational methods for teaching Turkish. In addition to teaching the Turkish language, FÜ TÖMER plays an active role in promoting Turkey and Turkish culture. Our institution aims to advance steadily as a respected and exemplary institution both regionally and globally.
